George Adamski: A Herald for the Space Brothers is a refreshing look at the first and most famous contactee of the modern era. In the early 1950s, George Adamski stunned the world with his extraordinary stories of meetings and travels with human looking extraterrestrials from planets within our own solar system. He traveled all over the world relating his personal experiences and the esoteric ‘space philosophies’ explained to him. Adamski was invited by many influential VIPs to give first hand accounts of the “space brothers” as he described the extraterrestrial visitors. The author, Gerard Aartsen, takes an unconventional approach to writing this book about Adamski. He does not present new evidence or testimonies to settle the long standing controversies surrounding Adamski’s claims. Instead, Aartsen presents personal information about Adamski’s early life and travels to give a fresh new perspective of Adamski as someone who was “a visionary teacher who was far ahead of the small minds that were waging a cold war” against him (xi). Adamski’s experiences with the “space brothers” according to Aartsen, are merely an unfolding of a mission and philosophy that Adamski had already well embarked upon earlier in his life.

The most tragic early life experience for Adamski was the death of his Polish father not long after emigrating to the U.S. with his Egyptian born wife, and the then four year old Adamski. Luckily, a mysterious tall dark family friend called Sid, took it upon himself to mentor the young Adamski who received private tuition. “Uncle Sid”, as he became affectionately known to the family, proposed that Adamski would benefit from further education in Tibet in “a monastery of Lamas. (p.22)” Adamski’s mother readily agreed with Uncle Sid’s unusual proposal. At the significant age of 12, the age when most rites of passage are performed for young men, Adamski was taken to Tibet. He spent somewhere between three to six years learning Buddhist philosophy at the hands of Tibetan Lamas, and/or “Masters of Wisdom” as Aartsen describes them. Who was “Uncle Sid” that would provide for Adamski’s expenses and guidance for such an unconventional formative childhood education? According to Aartsen, and unknown to Adamski, Uncle Sid was himself one of the space brothers that Adamski would later famously meet and befriend in 1952.

After his return from Tibet to the U.S. Adamski had acquired some very unconventional abilities from his time with his Tibetan teachers who taught him to “master the four elements: fire, water, air and earth” (p. 22). His newly acquired abilities were demonstrated to some Adamski trusted, but Adamski played down such abilities as insignificant compared to the philosophy he had learned in Tibet. Aartsen cites another author Henry Dohan who explained further Adamski’s reasoning: “the people who were around Adamski and who knew of his unusual powers were asked to keep it a secret. Adamski thought it would prejudice his prestige as a teacher, as people would take him for a magician” (p. 22).

Some time in this period of the 1930’s Adamski established the “Royal Order of Tibet” and a monastery at Laguna Beach, California. He therefore became one of the first people in the U.S. to teach esoteric practices and philosophy that had been learned at first hand from Tibetan Lamas. Adamski’s first book followed soon after in 1936 and was titled Wisdom of the Masters of the Far East. In it he elaborated on what he had learned in Tibet which he summarized in a 1934 interview with the Los Angeles Times where he said: “I learned great truths up there on the roof of the world, or rather the trick of applying age-old knowledge to daily life, to cure the body and the mind and to win mastery over self and soul” (p. 23).

So Adamski was clearly no opportunist who had conjured up a philosophy and established a cult around himself. He was in contrast, someone who had spent his formative childhood years directly learning with some of the world’s greatest teachers of esoteric practices and philosophies in Tibet. This is perhaps Aartsen’s greatest contribution in his book. Most critics of Adamski ignore or downplay the very significant experiences and teachings Adamski had acquired while in Tibet as a youngster. Instead, they launch into character assassinations where Adamski is portrayed as a self-promoting cultist who had no formal training for the esoteric practices and philosophies he was teaching. In contrast, Adamski’s childhood training and education was the ideal training for what he taught and practiced later in life.

In the late 1940’s and early 1950’s, Adamski began taking photos of UFOs, or flying saucers as they were known at the time. His flying saucer photos were among the finest ever taken and showed various types of craft – long cyclinder motherships, spheres of light, and the famous scout craft photos. Aartsen explains the famous 1952 Desert Center encounter with one of the space brothers. Orthon claimed to be from Venus and eventually Adamski would be taken to motherships from extraterrestrials from Venus and Saturn. Adamski claimed to have met on this motherships, Masters of Wisdom from both Venus and Saturn.

Aartsen describes the controversy arising from later NASA space probes showing extreme environmental conditions on Venus and Saturn that made human life as we know it impossible. While information from the early NASA missions was used to discredit Adamski’s claims of human life on other planets in our solar system, one thing that was overlooked was that life could exist on different dimensions. According to modern day string theory, as explained by Professor Michio Kaku, there are up to ten dimensions contained in space-time. So in the same space and time, one could encounter non-hospital life conditions in one dimension, and a flourishing civilization in another. Arguably, flourishing civilizations exist on Venus and Saturn today, but on a dimension that cannot be yet identified by scientific instruments.

Prior to Adamski’s death on April 23, 1965, Aartsen relates how Adamski promised that he would return as a young man to continue his earth mission. In an obituary, Lord Desmond Leslie, part of an English-Irish aristocratic family and co-author of Adamski’s first non-fiction book wrote: “I don’t believe by any means we have seen the last of him. If he is reborn on another planet, he has promised to come back and contact us when possible. (p. 28)” Incredibly, one day after his death, an Englishman by the name of Earnest Arthur Bryant had a contact experience with three extraterrestrials allegedly from Venus. Among them was one that the Englishmen remembered as being around 14 to 15 years old, Bryant wrote: “The youth appeared to be the leader of the group.....

A Survival Plan for the Human Species

Book review by Gerard Aartsen – an extract


Former Canadian defence minister Paul Hellyer instantly rose to fame within the circles of disclosure and exopolitics activists when he declared, in a speech at the Exopolitics Toronto Symposium in September 2005, that “UFOs are as real as the airplanes flying overhead” and that “the veil of secrecy must be lifted”.

In his recent book Light at the End of the Tunnel: A Survival Plan for the Human Species, Mr Hellyer likewise does not mince his words about the need for governments to get real about the problems confronting humanity, urging a view of what he calls a “broader” versus a “narrow” reality.

His heartfelt call for openness in all matters UFO came after he had learned that the authenticity of the Roswell crash, as described in a book by retired Colonel Philip J. Corso, was confirmed by a retired USAF general, who told him: “Every word of it is true, and more.” Mr Hellyer’s address also earned him, in his own words, “the dubious distinction of becoming the first person of cabinet rank from the G8 group of countries to say unequivocally that UFOs are real, we are not alone in the cosmos, and we had better get used to it”.

That this distinction is absolutely deserved becomes clear from Light at the End of the Tunnel in which the author connects the dots between what must be a unique array of subjects to many of his readers. And while most Share International readers will already be familiar with the interrelatedness of the challenges which Mr Hellyer analyzes in his book, they too will find it a breath of fresh air among the myriad books that seem bent on exponentially increasing the number of hysterical conspiracies – Earth-spun or of suspected extra-terrestrial origin….

Before setting out on his extraordinary journey to connect dots in a way that eludes most present-day commentators, the author identifies three “principal elements” that he says are required to “put the planet earth on the road to recovery and its inhabitants on a path of undeniable hope”. The first of these is “the availability of reliable sources of energy to replace fossil fuels”; the second is “a world culture of co-operation in contrast with the traditional desire to dominate and rule supreme”; and the third is a monetary and banking system that facilitates the transition from an economy that depends on oil and the perpetual slavery of the impoverished people of the world.

Injustice, whether economic, social, ecological, political, religious, or scientific, is indeed seen by the author as a major obstacle to salvaging the world. Thus it is that in one chapter he eloquently and movingly denounces the plight of the Palestinian people as he experiences the Israeli policy of oppression first-hand, and in another sums up all the compelling evidence of the authenticity of the Shroud of Turin that is ignored by debunkers; in the same chapter he identifies the ‘star’ of Bethlehem as “one of God’s spaceships”….

With the same ease with which he gives an overview of convincing stories of contactees Mr Hellyer outlines the nefarious forces on Earth that are struggling with all their might to hold humanity in thrall to the economic power which they wield through constant warfare and conflict.

In the chapter ‘Ending the World Financial Crisis’, the author states his case for a complete restructuring of the global financial and economic system, pointing out with keen insight the flaws of the current reality, “where a combination of greed and incompetence can doom billions of people to lives of misery and hopelessness”.…

As such, Light at the End of the Tunnel: A Survival Plan for the Human Species proposes solutions that are based on principles which slowly but surely are dawning in the minds of practical, reasonable human beings who recognize the fact of the one humanity: sharing, justice and co-operation.

Without doubt, the most important achievement by humanity would be the ending of war. This achieved, men’s energies would be released to tackle the many other pressing problems which beset them today: the millions who starve needlessly in a world of plenty; the precarious ecological imbalance of the planet; the ever-widening gap between the developed rich and the developing poor nations; the growing incidence and fear of terrorism, ever more sophisticated; the hardship and fear engendered by the economic collapse around the world.

Some governments try to cope with some of these difficult problems while still others are main culprits and instigators of them. What can humanity do? How to start when each problem grows out of another, and all seem intractable?

From Our viewpoint, these problems are real and pressing, and stem from one single condition: the separatism which sits like a heavy yoke on the shoulders of humanity and prevents all action in unison. Ideology rather than reason still guides the minds and actions of governments whose decisions affect the lives of all. They seek friends and allies to support their position, and thus are built the power blocks which strive for supremacy in the minds and hearts of men.

Today, this problem is increased by the re-opening of the religious divide between Christianity and Islam. In a growingly secular world, the fundamentalist adherents of both religions are more and more bellicose, raising the temperature of confrontation to ever more dangerous heights. In particular, Islamic terrorism, in complete contradiction to the teaching of the Prophet, has brought a new dimension to the struggle for a peaceful world. How can this process be reversed? There is but one way to grapple with these problems, one which has never been tried but which, at a stroke, would ease the lot of countless millions and bring, at long, long last, true and lasting peace to a world in agony.

Seamless

Men must realize that they are not separate, never were and never shall be, that they are part of a divine and seamless whole which enfolds us all, to which, in our own way, we give the name of God. Men must realize that God is peace, is justice, sharing and trust, and that their fear is also the fear of their brothers. Maitreya’s task is to show men this truth, and to remind them that at the core of their yearning lies the peace they all desire, waiting to be made manifest.


2. Questions and Answers

Q. Were there any Masters at your May 2010 lecture in Nagoya, Japan?
A. Yes, three: Maitreya, the Master Jesus and the Master in Tokyo.

Q. Why doesn’t Maitreya appear under His real name? I think it would be better.
A. Sorry, but Maitreya does not agree with you. Many people want the world to change but they are passive. They want it to happen magically. They think of Maitreya as a big avatar and therefore think it is His job. It is not. It is our job. Long ago Maitreya said: “Every stone, every brick of the new civilization must be put in place by humanity itself.” More recently, He said: “I am the architect, only, of the plan. You, My brothers, are the willing builders of the Temple of Truth.”

He must know, and will know, that when people respond to His ideas, they want the changes in the world which He is advocating; not because of His status, not because He is the World Teacher. If a World Teacher says we need to share, it is easier to believe the Teacher than to see for oneself that sharing is the only possible answer to our problems.

When you see that sharing is the only way to justice and therefore to peace, you are making an inner spiritual step in awareness. Not everyone sees this. Why do you see this? Because you have this spiritual awareness. It is the result of an inner awareness. But if you just accept it because you have recognized Maitreya it doesn’t mean that you are aware of the need. He has to know that enough people are responding from their own spiritual awareness.

Why do millions of people not share now? Why do people not see inwardly that sharing is a natural thing in a family of brothers? In a home the mother, father and children share everything. Likewise, we are in a home called Earth and we are brothers and sisters. Everything on Earth belongs to everyone and therefore should be shared. Everyone’s needs should be met. But it is not happening. Why? Because people do not have that inner spiritual awareness. They do not make it happen; it does not occur to them.

We have free will, we can choose to share or not. If we decide to follow Maitreya’s advice (whether we know it is His advice or not is immaterial) we will save the world. If we decide, however, that we do not want sharing, if there are not enough people who want change, sharing and justice, then we will destroy ourselves. It is as simple as that.

Maitreya knows that there is a ‘critical mass’ of 1.8 billion people ready to adopt His advocacy. When those 1.8 billion people make known where they stand and demand that their governments change their ways of working and share the resources of the world, it will happen.

Q. What can we do to get rid of capitalism?
A. We will not get rid of capitalism, we will give it a place in our society. It is not necessary to think in extremes, in black and white. No one ever thinks of these working together but Maitreya puts it this way: think of a cart; if you only have one wheel – whether capitalism or socialism – it will not go. All economic structures of the future will retain the balance of socialism and capitalism. Today there is no country in the world which has the balance right. The trick is to get the correct balance. From the Masters’ point of view, the best balance is 30 per cent capitalism and 70 per cent socialism.

Which countries are most stable? The Scandinavian countries. Their balance is around 60 per cent capitalism to 40 per cent socialism, which is still quite far off the best balance but it makes for a more stable society, which has no great wealth or poverty. It makes for a stable society with stable government.

One of the major problems from the economic point of view is that one of the most powerful countries, America, is 95 per cent capitalist to 5 per cent socialist; in Europe it is somewhat less: between 80 and 85 per cent capitalist to 20-25 per cent socialist. The perfect balance of 70 per cent socialism to 30 per cent capitalism works for all. You can see how far off the major nations are and therefore how far out of balance the world is. Japan is about 80 per cent capitalist and 20 per cent socialist. It is not a question of either/or, it is the right balance of both.

Q. (1) Do you personally feel that the recent explosion on the oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico and the resulting environmental catastrophe is the final coffin nail, so-to-speak, in the call for more off-shore drilling in America? (2) May I ask how many hundreds-of-thousands or millions of gallons of oil have flowed into the ocean from the broken oil pipe off the southern coast of the US at the time of your answering this question?
A. (1) No, I am sorry to say. I do not think so given the constant lust for more oil of the American oil companies (for whom it is liquid gold) and a large section of the American public who have been conditioned to fear its demise. (2) Several millions. This accident is being heralded as the ‘greatest catastrophe ever to have occurred in the USA.’ I personally do not take this view. Several similar have occurred even within quite recent years in the USA, Europe and elsewhere. Nature has a wonderful way of absorbing and overcoming these accidents and usually within a few years, the life of the area affected goes back to normal.

Q. (1) Has Maitreya been asked about the situation between Israel and the Palestinians now that the blockade of Gaza has captured the world’s attention? If so, (2) What is the general nature of His response? (3) Has He spoken, in answer to a question, about the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico? If so, what is the general nature of His response?
A. (1) Yes. (2) Maitreya deplores the present tragic situation of the Palestinians and makes His viewpoint clear. He urges the USA, instead of supporting the cruel actions of the Israeli government, to use its influence with the Israelis to end this inhuman blockade and to begin negotiations for peace. (3) No.

Q. Was the explosion that sunk the oil drilling rig in April 2010, which has resulted in colossal environmental damage off the eastern US coast, the result of karma and, if so, may I ask why?
A. No, it was an accident. Actually, it has not resulted in “colossal environmental damage” but in ‘potential’ environmental damage. Seen from Europe, President Obama (and he would normally have my vote) is overplaying his attempt to hold BP to account for every dollar of loss occurred. BP has already accepted responsibility and readiness to meet bonafide reasonable claims. I wonder if the American public knows that BP is half-owned by US investors.

Q. Could you tell us the title of your painting that is printed on the cover of your new book The Gathering of the Forces of Light: UFOs and Their Spiritual Mission and what it represents?
A. It is called ‘Pluto routed’. It represents the eternal struggle that goes on in every solar system between planets at different stages of evolution. Pluto is a powerful 1st Ray planet which unfortunately is not very evolved. Each planet has seven ‘rounds’ or incarnations. Pluto is in its second round only, therefore it interferes negatively in the lives of other planets. The central sun-like disk represents Venus (7th round), behind which Jupiter (6th round) is represented by the long yellow form, with the red form of Mars (4th round) behind Jupiter. Earth (4th round) is seen as the green form at the top of the painting. Pluto (2nd round) is seen as the black form retreating on the right, routed by the combined spiritual power of the other planets. Needless to say, the painting owes much to ‘artist’s license’ in the depiction of the forms.

Q. Are the spirit world and the etheric world the same?
A. No. Spirit world, as spiritualists use the word, is the area of consciousness where people who have died ‘reside’. It is not a place but a state of consciousness. The etheric planes are planes of the solid physical world but on the subtler end of that physical plane.

Q. If we have an etheric body can we see the UFOs and space brothers?
A. Everyone has an etheric body, but that doesn’t automatically give you etheric vision. This will come in gradually as more and more children are born with etheric vision.

Q. On Venus the climate is so extreme – how can people live there, even if they are in etheric bodies?
A. Venusians are very evolved. Venus is in its last incarnation or round; Earth is in the middle of the 4th of 7 rounds. If you lived on Venus you would have a body enabling you to live there very comfortably.

Q. When will humanity begin to recognize the fact of etheric matter?
A. Very soon. Already our scientists – especially those working in the field of astronomy – have become aware of some kind of matter which they do not understand. They know it is there. Their calculations tell them it is there but they cannot see or experiment with it. They call it ‘dark matter’. That so-called dark matter is in fact the etheric levels of matter.

Q. When will this take place?
A. If they opened one of the books of the esoteric teachings written by Madam Blavatsky, Alice Bailey, Helena Roerich or even myself, and read enough about matter and the state of the etheric physical planes they could have the answer in one afternoon. Instead, they build a huge cyclotron which took 25 years to build and cost millions to make in order to prove the reality of dark matter.

Q. What is the Masters’ view of genetically modified foods?
A. Generally speaking, the Masters do not view this as an advance. Much depends on the process used and the food itself. Generally, the Masters recommend the purest, least modified and organically grown food, as fresh as possible.

3. Letters to the Editor

A. Dear Editor,

On 4 June 2010 a number of group members joined many others in Amsterdam in a demonstration calling for justice for the Palestinians sparked by the Israeli attack on the aid flotilla off Gaza. Two of us left the demonstration after some hours to go back to the Share International Information Centre by tram. As we were waiting for a second tram two young women approached us. “I couldn’t help noticing your sign, can you tell me about it, please?” Our signs read: “The Palestinians are us” and “Let the people live”. The taller young woman who did all the talking said she had wanted to attend but had missed it for some reason.

The two girls, in their 20s, looked so familiar. We were both sure we knew them; I remarked on it: “You’re so familiar. Don’t I know you?” Both girls were attractive, smiling and had a lovely manner. The taller one, to my mind, looked more English than Dutch, with a soft heart-shaped face; she had lively, intelligent dark brown eyes. Her companion could have been any nationality with her dark hair, aquiline nose and pale complexion. She was entirely silent but smiled throughout, listening keenly to the exchange.

Why did we go to the demonstration, asked the tall girl. We talked about solidarity, justice, peace, trust, with sharing as the solution to building trust. In other words, without justice for all there can be no trust and also no negotiations in the Middle East. All peoples have equal rights. We are one family and all have the right to food, water, housing, healthcare and so on. She, too, concerned herself with the Middle East, she said.

We were being interviewed and quizzed, put through our catechism by the sweet young woman. “How would this happen?” “What is needed?” We told them about Share International, about Benjamin Creme’s work, about Maitreya, the World Teacher who comes not as a religious teacher but for all. “How will he make himself known?” He is appearing on TV calling for sharing, justice etc. But the world must respond to His ideas, not to Him because of His status. Basically we gave as much Emergence information possible in the few minutes at the tram stop.

At some point I was stuck, looking for a particular Dutch phrase, and she encouraged me to go on in English – which she said modestly she could manage OK. She then continued to question us in excellent English with no trace of an accent.

She went on putting us through our paces; her questions were so intelligent and led us on so that the story unfolded logically. We remarked on how nice it was that she asked so many questions. It was inspiring, she said.

“Why do you think this is important?” “What attracted you to this information?” “How did you hear about it?” She went on constantly bringing us back to our own involvement and commitment: “Now this is a personal question, I know we don’t have much time standing here at the bus-stop, but what was your journey – what brought you to this story? How did it begin?” I answered.

We were still telling them about Benjamin Creme’s books and Share International magazine, and our website, as all four of us boarded the tram. We sat down a little ahead of them. A man took exception to my text and began berating us loudly. But just then the tall young woman got up, walked through the tram to where we were and said with some emphasis: “I just wanted to thank you for sharing.”

We left the tram and I peered in, wanting to wave goodbye. I should have been able to see them although they were sitting on the other side of the tram. Perhaps I didn’t look carefully enough, but either I didn’t see them or they weren’t there.

Were our sweet persistent interrogators simply inquisitive young women?

B. Mother’s protest

Today, 4 June 2010, a number of co-workers from various Reappearance groups in the Netherlands joined the protest in Amsterdam against Israel’s outrageous attack on the Turkish aid flotilla heading for Gaza earlier this week.

We seemed to make a bit of a sight amidst a majority of Turkish and Arab protesters, and many people and photographers seemed to like our signs, which said things like “Let the people live!”, “Palestinians are us”, and “Stop killing our brothers!”

At one point during the protest meeting an attractive Arab-looking young woman, about 30 years of age and wearing dark blue harem trousers, a beige cardigan, a shawl half covering her head and carrying a blue backpack, came up to us teary-eyed and said something like: “I just want to tell you how moved I am by seeing you here and by your signs. We really are all one. Can I just give you a hug?” She held out her arms as if she wanted a group hug, and since she was standing in front of me I leaned over and hugged her, saying “Thank you!” The scene felt like a living example of brotherhood and unity, and her heartfelt remarks and gesture moved us all.

She went on to say something about Jesus who had also come and had given his blood, and that Gretta Duisenberg, a well-known Dutch activist for the Palestinian cause who was mistreated at a rally earlier this week, couldn’t be here today. After referring to Mrs Duisenberg as a mother, she said: “I’m just an unknown mother.” She moved along among the protesters in front of us, where a woman photographer wanted to take her picture, but she refused. After speaking to some other people she sat down on a concrete block for a while before walking off. Could it be that the young Arab woman was not just another protester?

C. Accommodation problem

At Benjamin Creme’s Tokyo Lecture in 2010, the 2,070 seats capacity Hibiya Public Hall became quickly full to capacity immediately after the door opened. Thirty minutes later, a long queue was formed at the entrance by the people who were not able to get in.

Since we were concerned about the people having to stand outside in a queue for one or two hours till the intermission, we offered to prepare a waiting list and record their mobile phone numbers, so that we could call them as soon as someone left. As more and more people came to stand in line, I felt I wanted to do something to help out, so I walked around among the people in line and explained the situation.

As I was handing out the numbered ‘tickets’, a middle-aged man with a red shirt, who was standing toward the front of the line, spoke to me. “I wrote down my mobile phone number, but when will you let us know? What if my turn is taken by the time I come back after I receive your phone call? Won’t it be unfair?”

He was gentle and frank. He said, looking at his watch: “Only because I was five minutes late! I thought the small two folded pamphlets were tickets, so I went back to the station where I found them. It took me over one and a half hours. So I was too late to get in!” I was very sorry for him. He also said: “Why isn’t there any mention on the pamphlet of the Transmission Meditation workshop scheduled for the next day?” His remark surprised me, for I didn’t pay attention to its content. He said: “This event is run entirely by volunteers, isn’t it?” I replied: “Yes, I am involved in this because this information is really wonderful. Today, I came from Okayama (a four-hour train ride), wanting to help out.”

He said: “I really want to hear this lecture, but it may not be possible judging from such a long line of people waiting for it!” He looked very disappointed. I recommended him to go to the book corners in the lobby to browse through or to come to Michiko Ishikawa’s lecture (which was quickly arranged) in Tokyo in June. I also told him about the lecture in Osaka the following week and handed him the information sheet.

Eventually, over 130 extra people were able to come inside the hall, but I didn’t see this man. I wondered what happened to him, because he seemed so eager to hear. Was he just a nice person?

D. New insight

Dear Editor,

On 9 May 2010, at the public Transmission Meditation in Tokyo with Benjamin Creme, my sister and I were working at the table where Maitreya’s ‘hand’ cards and Benjamin Creme’s Esoteric Art (mandala) booklets were displayed. Not far from us was the book table. The hallway was quite small and was very crowded with the people who came to attend the Meditation meeting.

Among the crowd was a man who caught my attention. He was of medium build with grey hair, wearing a grey jacket and grey trousers, around 60 years of age. He first went to the book table and was talking to a staff member. I overheard their conversation, which intrigued me. He was asking her: “ Sharing…. What do you share?”, to which the staff member answered: “Everything.” To which, the man immediately asked: “Life, too?” After a pause, pointing to each of the staff members at the table, he said: “Life is shared, isn’t it?”

The man then came to our table and picked up a copy of the mandala art booklet and flipped through the pages. I said to him: “It is Mr Creme’s lithograph booklet.” He said: “Modern mandalas are too graphic.” I understood that he was not referring to Mr Creme’s paintings. Then he asked, “What is this?”, pointing to one of the images printed on the cover of the booklet, which was titled ‘OM overshadowing the Earth’. It was such an unexpected question that I was taken aback for a moment, but answered: “It is the OM.” He then asked me with a challenging but serious tone: “What is OM?” I felt I needed to answer him as best as I could and said: “It is the first word of Creation.” I noticed he was searching for yet another answer, so I went on to say: “It is God.” Then the man pressed his palms together in front of his face and said: “OM is Gassho. It’s gratitude.” His voice was very clear and vigorous, and full of dignity and confidence. He then placed some coins in our donation box, saying: “Here is a widow’s mite.”

My sister and I were overwhelmed by this man and we felt very grateful. It is hard to explain in words, but I felt I was given some light leading to a new awareness. (1) Was this man a special person? (2) Does OM include the meaning of gratitude, as the man said?

On 9 May 2010, on the day of Benjamin Creme’s public Transmission Meditation, I was working as a volunteer in charge of Maitreya’s ‘hand’ cards and my twin sister Mariko was in charge of the Esoteric Art booklets, when a man of around 60 came to our table. He was rather short with grey hair, wearing a jumper over a blue and grey striped polo-shirt. Pointing to the painting of ‘OM Overshadowing the Earth’, he asked my sister: “What is this?”

I was standing beside my sister, watching closely his eyes while listening to their conversation. I could not keep my eyes off him, because in spite of his quite ordinary appearance, he had extraordinary eyes. They were not only piercing, but at the same time very deep, giving me an impression that they were seeing beyond this physical realm. His eyes looked to me deeper than the sea and higher than the sky. I was very moved by them.

Some days later, I attended the Share Japan Conference. When Mr Creme mentioned that some artists paint watered down paintings, and people often live “watered down lives,” I remembered this man’s eyes. I strongly thought that we should not water down our words, paintings or writings, and above all, we should not live watered down (lukewarm) lives. I felt deeply that I would like to choose a way of living as deep as the sea and as high as the sky. I wished to be a kind of person who could have such deep and lofty eyes.

Signs: UFO sightings worldwide

In March 2007 Benjamin Creme’s Master wrote: “Important events are taking place in many parts of the world. People everywhere will be astonished by the reports. These will include sightings, in unprecedented numbers, of spacecraft from our neighbouring planets, Mars and Venus in particular. Nothing like this increased activity, over vast areas of the Earth, will have been seen before.” UFO sightings are now reported so frequently that not a day passes, it seems, without someone somewhere in the world reporting seeing a UFO. We here offer a selection of some of the most significant recent sightings from around the world.

Naples, Italy – Naplesnews.com reports that as many as 75 people gathered in a small Italian community to watch a mysterious lighted object that has been seen in the sky over the Isles of Capri, between Marco Island and Naples, Italy, since 11 March 2010. Witnesses describe the object as “a glowing globe or a box either glowing from the inside or framed with lights”. (Benjamin Creme’s Master confirms the object was a spacecraft from Mars.)

South-western Arizona, USA – In April 2010, a father and son witnessed “a soft white, single colour ribbon, flying silently across the sky” while relaxing in their backyard at 9pm. Soon afterwards they saw a second object directly overhead and moving in the same direction – south to north. Then came a third object which “seemed very large, quiet with a faint white, luminescent light emanating from it. It was as if we were seeing something that was almost completely invisible, except for the curved leading edge of the crescent.” The men could not say how large the objects were, but thought they flew at high altitude, which would mean they were very large. Moray, Scotland – Heather and Karl King were in their garden at about 10.30pm on 2 May 2010 when they spotted an unusual phenomenon in the sky from their home in Moray, near Inverness, Scotland, UK. “It was an orange flame and was hovering. It came towards us then the light died out and it became a black sphere and started to spin towards the ground but we lost it in the cloud. There was no noise.” Mr King said: “As an RAF man I’m an aviation enthusiast. Toronto, Canada – YouTube user graiz23 posted a video clip of a cylindrical craft floating in the sky and into a cloud in clear daylight over Toronto, Canada, which they captured on 6 May 2010. They write: “A few neighbours and I have seen this object flying over our neighbourhood for a while now. I have been trying to capture it on tape for more than a year... Cincinnati, Ohio, USA – During a live camera shot at the end of Cincinnati’s WLTW (Ohio, USA) 11pm news broadcast in early May 2010 an orb of light was seen streaking across the night sky. The angle at which it moved could only mean it wasn’t a meteor. Other explanations were ruled out as well, which left a local expert to declare: “A UFO, that’s what we’ll call it. Maitreya’s lightship and ‘star’ sightings increase

In August 2009 I was in Istanbul and while having dinner I saw a large orange ball moving in a straight line across the sky. I watched in amazement but nobody else seemed to notice it at the time.

Also, in May 2010 I was looking at what I thought was the ‘star’ in my garden with a friend. We looked at it for a long time and my friend said: “If you are the ‘star’ would you please change your colour to the colour of my jumper?” She wore a dark orange top but the star did not change to any colour and in the end we went inside. Later the same evening I was standing in the kitchen and I saw a huge orange globe in the sky, moving from east to west. I ran downstairs and called my friend again to come outside quickly. We both watched it move slowly across the sky until it disappeared. Only after some time did my friend remember that it was the same colour as her top.

He asks for the latest news on Maitreya when co-workers bring mailouts. “It is true, strange things are happening,” he said. Was this a UFO sighting?

On the evening of 15 May 2010 I was with my husband and two co-workers driving home. We were halfway up Mansfield Road in North London when we all spotted a very bright orange fiery light high in the sky. It was moving quite slowly and silently but purposefully in a southerly direction. We watched it for some time before it disappeared behind tower blocks.

Again, at around 10.30pm on 30 May 2010, my husband and I were walking down hill to Tufnell Park underground station when we saw a similar big bright orange light which remained stationery for some time. It was so big and bright that it amazed us that people were not pointing at this unusual sight. It then disappeared behind buildings.

Please could you confirm what these two sighting were?

On the evening of Sunday 9 May 2010 the BBC broadcast the last programme in the series ‘Wonders of the Solar System’. The presenter speculated on the possibility of life on other planets and then the credits rolled to the sound-track of the Carpenters’ song Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft! I looked out of the loft window where I had seen a fleet of UFOs on New Year’s Eve. A glowing orange spherical object was moving steadily across the sky on the same path as the previous sighting, coming from the east. It was much too large for a Chinese lantern, and not blown on an erratic course as a lantern would be, buffeted by wind. It moved majestically overhead then disappeared behind the roof of our house. It made no noise and had no flashing lights as planes do. It seemed to radiate energy and purpose, and the sighting left me feeling revitalised.

After a family meal to celebrate a birthday on Saturday 12 June 2010 my partner and I were seeing our guests out to their car. It was about 11.30pm. We looked up and saw a bright red light and thought it was an aircraft. We kept looking as the light was quite still in the sky and glowing bright red. Then another one appeared. The four of us were intrigued: what on earth were they – could they be Chinese lanterns or, possibly, aircraft? As we watched, one after another appeared until five large, glowing red lights were ahead of us in the distance. They appeared to move towards our house, quite evenly spaced apart, in a south-westerly direction but then turned and, all in sequence, headed north. It was hard to tell from the ground but they looked to be quite high, possibly 10-15,000 ft.

If they were Chinese lanterns we did not think they would have been so organized in their flying pattern. Could you please tell us if these were spacecraft? If so, where were they from?

On 15 May 2010, shortly before midnight, a friend and I were sitting outside around my patio fireplace. The sky was completely clear with several stars shining in the night sky. We had watched Venus set in the west only a short time earlier and I suddenly noticed what appeared to be a small cluster of stars off to my left. As I looked more intently I saw them come into better focus. They seemed to “phase in” and become more distinct and gently moved across the sky toward us. As soon as I got a distinct image of them I instantly thought to myself that these were Space Brothers. I excitedly shot my arm up into the air and pointed at them saying, “There’s a UFO!” My friend turned her head quickly to look and we watched as it gently glided through the atmosphere almost directly above and in front of us, then gradually picked up speed and headed off to the right and quickly “dissolved” into the night sky.

The craft itself was dark but appeared to be triangular shaped, based on the position of the lights around its frame. I had seen many images like it before on the internet, such as the spectacular night sighting of lights over Phoenix, Arizona, in 1997. There was one light on the front, one about half-way along each side, and one on each tip at the back of the triangle. There was another light in the middle of the body near the outer edge furthest from us. It was not immediately apparent to me whether this was one object with six lights or six objects flying together in formation. As it passed closer by and overhead, I had the sense of it being one craft though. It moved completely without sound although it seemed to be only a few hundred feet above us and we could hear other sounds from quite a distance in the evening air. It seemed to cut through the air effortlessly as though it was entirely weightless. While we were surprised at first, there was no sense of fear or concern. In fact, I had a distinct sense of excitement and elation along with a feeling of love and appreciation for the inhabitants of the craft. My friend said that it felt like a blessing had occurred. Indeed, I think that fully described my experience as well.

Extraordinary signs for extraordinary times

A very bizarre medical case in Northwest China has parents, doctors and the media baffled. An 18-month-old girl is excreting metal nails with no apparent discomfort and no sign of her having eaten anything other than normal food.

Doctors at the Children’s Hospital of Yulin city, Shaanxi province, where the little girl is being kept under observation while her astonishing case is being investigated, said the baby girl has excreted 21 nails and a steel pin during the past month.

“At first we thought the baby accidentally swallowed such things, but after being confined in the hospital she continued to expel nails day by day. And more surprisingly, x-rays showed new nails in her stomach after each excretion,” He Bo, president of the hospital said.

It is not unknown for babies to swallow all sorts of objects; at a certain stage of development toddlers tend to put things into their mouths. It is also a medical fact that, if lacking certain minerals, babies may try to satisfy that need by eating charcoal, soil and so on. But this strange case is unprecedented.

The baby’s parents told the media that they are entirely at a loss as to how to explain their daughter’s case. They wonder whether for some inexplicable reason their daughter might be “producing” nails in her stomach. The doctors showed reporters four nails and a steel pin they claimed the girl has excreted.

He Bo announced to the media that from now on the girl will be placed under closer scrutiny and confined to her hospital bed.

In a similar case, in August 2008, Indonesian media sources reported on the strange case of a woman whose body produced fine metal wires just under her skin and protruding through it. The wires were between 10-20 cms long.

The woman’s name is Noorsyaidah; she is a teacher from Sangatta, East Kutai and a graduate of Mulawarman University’s school of social and political sciences.

Her first symptoms started manifesting in 1991. The metal wires grew out of her chest, her belly and hands. “God probably wants to show His Almightiness through this odd disease,” said Noor.

She said that to prevent the wires from hurting her skin, she wore the upper part of a two-piece mukena, the loose clothing worn by Muslim women when praying, and trousers only up to her lower abdomen. She does not allow the wires to stop her from conducting daily activities. As a Muslim, she added she never forgets to perform the Shalat prayers five times a day. Man in T-shirt saves oil platform worker

A cook who was on the oil platform that exploded in the Gulf of Mexico on 20 April 2010 was led to safety by a man wearing a white T-shirt. Oleander Benton was sitting in a laundry room when the explosion occurred. Amid falling debris, she managed to make her way into a darkened hallway.

According to an Associated Press account, “a man in a white T-shirt appeared out of the swirling dust and beckoned. ‘Come on, Miss O!’ he shouted. Go this way. This is the real deal! This is the REAL DEAL!’”

They maneuvered through hallways filled with rubble and injured people. “I could not see anything but that man,” Benton said. “He just kept on saying ‘Come this way, come that way.’ It was like he was coaching me to my lifeboat, because I couldn’t see,” she said. Fire and mud were pouring from the platform’s oil derrick. With help from the man in the white T-shirt, Benton made it across the hot, muddy deck to a lifeboat – one of 115 people to escape the platform after the explosion. Eleven people died in the blast. The spiral light seen across eastern Australia in the early morning of 5 June has been confirmed by Benjamin Creme’s Master to be the ‘star’ which heralds the emergence of Maitreya, the World Teacher into full public recognition.

Scientists are attempting to explain away this latest spiral phenomenon as the effects of a private spacecraft launched in the US. Witnesses and many other commentators have pointed out that this spiral light is reminiscent of the spiral formation which appeared over Norway in December 2009 and which was confirmed by Benjamin Creme’s Master to have been the ‘star’ heralding Maitreya’s emergence. At the time, Benjamin Creme’s Master also noted that many more such spectacular celestial signs could be expected.

People out in the early morning, about 5.45am, were treated to an amazing spectacle. Reports of the spiral star sighting quickly reached The Sunday Mail, radio stations, the police and even search and rescue services. Officials at agencies from the weather bureau to the Defence Department could offer no explanation but all who saw it agreed that it was extraordinary. UFO Research Queensland spokesman Pino Pezzimenti said it was “extremely unusual” for a UFO to be seen over such a wide area and for such a long time. Witnesses were quick to compare the light with a similar recent sighting in Norway.

Sergeant John Garner was trying to rescue his cat from his roof in north Brisbane when the UFO whirled across the sky. “The light was very unusual in that it consisted of a central light surrounded by a spiral anti-clockwise halo,” he said. “The speed and direction remained constant during the flyover, perhaps 40 seconds in duration.”

Ben Harris – who has written magazine articles on UFOs – had just taken his wife to work at Taigum in Brisbane’s north when he saw the light and took 18 photographs with his mobile phone camera. “It’s absolutely freaky. I believe I’m a good sceptical person and if you ask me what it is, I’ll honestly tell you I don’t know,” he said.

Jeff Hannah, from Redcliffe, was out jogging with friends when he saw the “perfect spiral of light”. “I realised soon it was not the moon but that it was shooting like a comet from the southern sky and off into the northwest,” he said.

A police spokeswoman said: “We have received calls from the Gold Coast, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.” And ABC News Online received dozens of emails, pictures and videos from those who claim to have witnessed the huge white light.

A number of people from Morayfield and Caboolture in Queensland have reported that they too saw a white light in the sky about 5.50am.

“It was just the one light. I just came home from my walk and I happened to look up in the sky, and here it was racing across the sky,” Linda told 612 ABC Brisbane. “It was spectacular.” She described the light as like a lollipop swirl.

Another eye-witness from Balmoral says he saw the light while he was on a ferry terminal on the Brisbane River. “It certainly had that lollipop-type swirl ... but it was travelling low and fairly fast, and as it went past me and I looked up, it looked like a row of lights, maybe four lights,” he said.

A caller from Pine Mountain told ABC radio in Brisbane that she saw the lights shortly before 6am. “There was no noise. It was like bands of ribbon coming out of it and it looked like it was coming through a cloud, yet there were no clouds.” (Source: couriermail.com; ABC News Online, Australia)

On Sunday 23 May 2010 I noticed from my window a beautiful bright star and decided to take some photographs of it. As I was attaching my camera to the tripod I noticed through the window a bright orange light. When I got outside the orange light had gone. ALICE ANN BAILEY

Zij was een kanaal van wat ze noemen de Hiërarchie van Meesters (ook bekend als 'De Grote Witte Broederschap') en in het bijzonder van Meester Djwhal Khul. Tussen 1919 en haar dood in 1949 schreef ze 24 boeken met esoterische inhoud, die vooral te maken hebben met de ontwikkeling van de Ziel en Dienstbaarheid aan de mensheid.
Hiertoe stichtte ze een organisatie, de Lucis Trust - website: http://www.lucistrust.org - die in alle landen actief is en door de Verenigde Naties wordt erkend als niet-gouvernementele organisatie (NGO)
Naast haar taak om de 24 boeken van Alice Bailey in zo veel mogelijk talen en landen te verspreiden, bestaat de Lucis Trust uit drie grote afdelingen:
1. opleiding van studenten tot discipelschap en daardoor meer bruikbaar voor de Hiërarchie.
2. Wereld Goede Wil (ontwikkeling van het programma van WGW in verschillende eenheden van dienst), dienstbaarheid o.a. ook in de vorm van een wereldwijde Meditatiegroep-Goede-Wil
3. driehoek(meditatie) een wereldwijd netwerk van meditatie, waaraan iedereen kan deelnemen, in de vorm van driehoeken die bestaan uit drie mensen

Boeken:

1. 'De ziel en haar mechanisme'. De ziel werkt via het mechanisme van de drievoudige persoonlijkheid. In dit boek wordt beschreven hoe ziel en persoonlijkheid op elkaar inwerken en gezamenlijk functioneren

2. 'Het licht van de ziel' Dit boek bevat een vertaling met uitvoerig en helder commentaar van de yoga sutra's van Patanjali, de grondlegger van de rajayoga-school, die ze voor het eerst schriftelijk vastlegde. Het is mogelijk door middel van rayayoga controle te verkrijgen over het denken zodat dit verlicht wordt door de ziel.

3. 'Het naar buiten treden van de geestelijke hiërarchie' Het boek toont de wisselwerking aan tussen de mensheid, hiërarchie en shamballa. Het proces van het naar voren komen van bepaalde ashrams binnen de hiërarchie en de praktische gevolgen van dit proces worden tot in details verklaard.

4. 'Opvoeding in het nieuwe tijdperk' .Opvoeding moet ononderbroken doorgaan van geboorte tot dood. In wezen is het een proces dat de menselijke en goddelijke elementen in de mens met elkaar verzoent.


5. 'Problemen der mensheid'. Zes fundamentele problemen en hun vele vertakkingen 'begeleiden' de mens op hun ontwikkelingstocht. In dit boek worden de geestelijke en subjectieve oorzaken in verbinding gebracht met hun uitwerking in de buitenwereld.

6. 'Brieven over occulte meditatie'. Alice Bailey beschrijft in dit boek meditatie als iets dat zich bezighoudt met de circulatie van energie; energie die in wezen onpersoonlijk en vurig van aard is.
We moeten ons rekenschap geven van de gevaren die aan meditatie verbonden zijn. Veilige en betrouwbare methoden zijn dus een eerste vereiste. Die worden in dit boek gegeven.

7. 'Stof om na te denken'. We hebben een aantal van de meest saillante uitspraken van Alice Bailey uit een groot aantal van haar boeken bij elkaar gebracht. De bedoeling hiervan is hun die geïnteresseerd zijn in haar werk door middel van korte teksten kennis te laten maken met haar gedachten.

8. 'De ziel, bron van leven'. Deze derde compilatie uit werk van Alice Bailey concentreert zich op haar uitspraken over de ziel. Er is veel waarover we kunnen nadenken of mediteren. Het belangrijkste is dat we zoeken in de schatkamer van onze eigen ziel, en leren ons één te voelen met alles wat ademt en samen te werken met het goddelijk plan.
De dood, het grote avontuur:</strong> In dit boek zijn een aantal uitspraken van Alice Bailey samengebracht over de dood en sterven. De tijd is gekomen waarin de dood niet langer uit het dagelijkse leven wordt verbannen. Meer inzicht in wat sterven betekent maakt dat de dood zijn angstaanjagendheid verliest. Een positieve benadering ervan leidt tot een intenser en harmonischer 'leven'.

9. 'Onvoltooide autobiografie' Hoewel haar dood in 1949 Alice Bailey belette dit boek af te maken, krijgen we een levendig beeld van haar weg naar een uitermate en omvangrijke kennis van de esoterische wetenschap.

10. 'Bewustzijn van het atoom' Behandelt de wetenschappelijke relatie tussen materie en bewustzijn. Het 'atoom' blijkt een volledig evenbeeld van de structuur van de energie, die alle levensvormen - zowel kosmische, menselijke als andere levensvormen - gemeen hebben.

11. 'Mensen- en zonne-inwijding' Alle levensvormen, grote en kleine, ervaren inwijding. Dit wordt in dit boek beschreven. Ook zijn veertien regels opgenomen die de neofiet tot het portaal van de inwijding kunnen brengen.
Een inwijding is een uitbreiding van bewustzijn - een middel tot het openstellen van het denkvermogen en het hart voor een erkenning van hetgeen in de werkelijkheid reeds bestaat.
Een van de grote verdiensten van dit boek is dat het denkvermogen kan worden verruimd tot nieuw begrip omtrent de intense activiteit die heerst op alle bewustzijnsgebieden op de planeet, ten behoeve van het scheppen van de voorwaarden waaronder evolutionaire groei kan plaatsvinden.
Het werk van de planetaire Hiërarchie, alsmede van sommige van de verantwoordelijke werkers binnen die Hiërarchie, wordt uiteengezet op een wijze die het menselijk leven van alledag belicht als een uiterlijke uitdrukking van doelstelling die met hoedanigheid is begiftigd door middel van de Ashrams van de Meesters.
De onderlinge verwantschap en wisselwerking tussen de vele natuurrijken en bewustzijnscentra komt in het boek tot uitdrukking als de neiging tot volledige integratie en eenlijnigheid van onze Planetaire Logos binnen het geheel van het zonnestelsel.

12. 'Van intellect naar intuïtie' De ontwikkeling van het intellect, hoe noodzakelijk in vele opzichten ook, is een middel tot een doel, en wel een middel om door te dringen in nieuwe denk- en bewustzijnsdimensies en om al de intuïtieve talenten van 'het zuivere verstand' te activeren.

13. 'Esoterische genezing' Genezen is een exacte en veeleisende wetenschap. Ook esoterische genezing heeft een wetenschappelijke basis. In dit boek worden de afzonderlijke genezingsmethoden van de zeven stralen beschreven en eveneens worden de wetten en regels voor genezing besproken.

14. 'Werken van Hercules' Hercules wordt gezien als het beeld van de zoekende en strijdende mens, die vanuit het materiële vlak komen wil tot een dieper inzicht. Maar ook is hij een wegwijzer daartoe.

15. 'Nieuwe psychologie I - II' De twee delen (Nieuwe psychologie I &amp; II) bevatten een uitvoerige uiteenzetting over de psychologische uitrusting van de mens, als leven, hoedanigheid en verschijning van een geïncarneerd zich evoluerend geestelijk wezen. Ook wordt de menselijke psychologie in verband gebracht met de toestand in de wereld en met toekomstige mogelijkheden.

16. 'Esoterische astrologie' Behandelt de astrologie als de essentiële occulte wetenschap van de toekomst. Een wetenschap die zich bezighoudt met de energieën en krachten, die hun werking uitoefenen op de gehele ruimte en alles wat zich daarin bevindt.

17. 'Wederkomst van de Christus' Een groot aantal religies verwacht nu de komst van een avatar, Messias of redder. De tweede komst van Christus op aarde als wereldleraar voor het aquariustijdperk, wordt in dit boek beschreven als een gebeurtenis die binnenkort zal plaatsvinden.

18. 'Witte magie' Dit boek geeft de vijftien regels voor magie (controle van de ziel) - de ziel, de witte magiër treedt door de eigen innerlijke magische krachten naar voren. Door de ziel wordt de mens zich bewust van het goddelijke, de ziel verlost de materie en bevrijdt de zuivere geestesvlam uit de begrenzingen van de vorm.

19. 'Bestemming der volkeren' Een natie, een volk is een zich voortdurend ontwikkelend geestelijk geheel, dat net als de individuele mens onderworpen is aan energieschokken. Het geestelijk lot van een groot aantal volkeren wordt in dit boek belicht.

20. 'Compilatie over seksualiteit' Dit boek bevat raadgevingen op het spirituele vlak in verband met seksualiteit. U vindt er hoofdstukken in als: Seksualiteit en discipelschap; Huwelijk en ouderschap; Het mysterie van de seksualiteit. Steeds wordt verwezen naar de titels en plaatsen waar de opgenomen gedeelten oorspronkelijk zijn verschenen.

21. 'Van Bethlehem tot Golgotha' De levenservaring van Jezus met kruisiging en verloochening weerspiegelt zich in de levenservaring van elk mens. We moeten ons bewust worden van de weg die ons van spirituele geboorte leidt naar verloochening en opstanding en hem in volledig bewustzijn en doelgericht gaan.

22. 'Discipelschap in het nieuwe tijdperk I - II' Hier vindt u het onderricht dat aan kleine groepen en individuele leden werd gegeven. Het behandelt o.a. meditatie, inwijding en de zes stadia van het discipelschap. De nadruk ligt op het nieuwe tijdperk en niet meer op de enkeling, maar op groepen.

24. 'Telepathie en etherisch lichaam' De wetenschappelijke basis voor het in brede kring geaccepteerde ideaal van 'de broederschap der mensen' berust op het feit dat de etherische en energiestructuren van alle vormen in de natuurrijken binnen de planeten met elkaar vervlochten zijn.

« Isis Dévoilée » d'Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (en deux volumes)

Paru en septembre 1877, cet ouvrage connut immédiatement un succès éclatant. Il éveilla l’intérêt du public à l’égard de questions que la Science et les Religions ont toujours laissées sans réponse satisfaisante.

Cet intérêt fut en fait si vif qu’il suscita de la part de l’auteur des réponses dans les multiples écrits sur les Sciences Occultes qu’elle publia dans les journaux américains.

C’était un premier pas dans le décryptage d’une longue histoire, celle de l’Humanité qui avait perdu, depuis la nuit des temps, tous ses repères.

Des hauteurs du Tibet où cette Connaissance des réalités humaines et universelles s’était enfermée et fut donc protégée de toute incursion malveillante, une porte s’ouvrit vers l’Occident à la fin du siècle dernier pour dissiper l’ignorance et permettre aux êtres de se resituer dans un Univers qu’ils méconnaissent.

« Issue du Nord de l’Inde, des centaines de milliers d’années avant J.-C., puis transmise à l’Égypte, à la Chaldée, et, comparativement de façon plus récente, en Grèce, la Connaissance des Lois Universelles régissant l’Univers (le Macrocosme) et l’homme (le Microcosme) ainsi que la mise en œuvre de celles-ci (donc les pratiques liées à l’ascèse fondant l’évolution harmonieuse de l’être) était dispensée dans des Temples auxquels pouvaient accéder tout homme et toute femme instruits et dont l’éthique intègre était solidement établie. »

L’universalité de la véritable Connaissance venait d’être démontrée. »

« A l’instar des Professeurs de la Sagesse Antique, elle s’attacha à recourir sans cesse au stade atteint, dans son siècle, par la Science et l’expression de la spiritualité générale afin de restaurer à nouveau la Philosophie et l’ascèse conduisant aux Mystères. »

Cet Enseignement diffusait, en conséquence, les fondements, non seulement de ce qui est devenu aujourd’hui la "Science Moderne", dans les multiples domaines de cette dernière, mais aussi de la constitution complexe des êtres et du principe essentiel qu’est, dans l’Univers, le phénomène de la Conscience. »

« De cette exhaustivité résultait un pouvoir d’agir sur la matière ainsi que sur la structure subtile de l’être humain que la Science occidentale et les religions ignorent encore. »

« Toutefois, au cours des millénaires, la transmission de cette Doctrine secrète suivit deux voies divergentes :

1. En Orient, elle survécut, dans un premier temps, dans les Écoles secrètes Védiques, au Nord de l’Inde —d’où elle fut originairement divulguée— et vers lesquelles s’acheminèrent, d’Égypte, de Grèce et d’Asie Mineure, dès la fin du IIème siècle de notre ère, des manuscrits précieux que les remous de l’Histoire occidentale s’apprêtaient à détruire. »

Ce fut le premier Roi Bouddhiste, Song Tsen Gam-po, qui fit venir de l’Inde, à cette époque, des manuscrits inestimables et sauva donc ceux-ci de la destruction devant frapper par la suite, en Inde même, de nombreuses traces écrites de l’Enseignement. Naropa, l’Instructeur Indien, légua, au XIIème siècle, d’autres manuscrits à Marpa le Traducteur qui les ramena au Tibet. Lorsqu’au XVème siècle, le Grand Tsong Kaparé forma le Bouddhisme Tibétain, cette Doctrine — dans toutes ses disciplines : Cosmogénèse, Anthropogénèse, Médecine, Astronomie, Astrologie, Théurgie, etc. — était déjà entièrement sauvée de l’obscurantisme qui était tombé sur le monde. Le Tibet allait préserver ainsi, dans le silence de ses Monastères inaccessibles, la Mémoire humaine. »

En Occident: par le cours de l’Histoire, cette Connaissance Globale Antique devint éparse et s’occulta de plus en plus car son fondement le plus efficace, la Théurgie, constituait un instrument de destruction aux mains d’hommes à l’éthique peu sûre, qui avaient accès d’une façon ou d’une autre à ce Savoir particulier, — ce pouvait être la caste des prêtres elle-même. »

Baird Thomas Spalding

(1857-1953)

Short Biographical Information:

Baird T. Spalding was in reality Baird T. Spalding III. His father was number two and Spalding the first was his grandfather.

Spalding was born in England and at age four he went to India. At age seventeen he finished the University and went to California were he stayed two years. He then travelled to Heidelberg, Germany and studied for eight years and then returned to California for post-graduate work in Archaeology at Berkley and Stanford.

In the 1890's Spalding begin to write down his experiences in India for hand and then some friends to him wanted typewritten copies and Spalding carried with him for many years these typewritten accounts which later become Volume 1 of Life and Teaching of the Masters of the Far East

The wife to the builder of the Oakland Municipal Railways then asked Mr. Spalding for the permission to let the California Press in San Francisco print one thousand copies using an inexpensive paperbinding, because she wanted to give them away to her friends. Six days after they had been printed and given away, more then 20 000 orders was recieved for copies of that book (1924)!

Mr. Spalding was astonished at the interest in his discoveries and experiences so he wrote Volume 2 (1927). Then followed a period of seven years when Mr. Spalding was involved as a research engineering and each day after work he used to answer questions from small groups about the books and his experiences. His work come to halt during the period when he was the technical advisor on all Biblical works in Cecil B. DeMilles moving picture - King of Kings. In 1935 Spalding wrote Volume 3 and had a thirty days tour and visited 30 cities during that time.

The last part of his life until he left his physical form in 1953, he spent as a world traveller and worked as a research mining enginner. Volume 4 (1948) and Volume 5 (1955) was compelied from his question and answer material. Volume 6 (1996) contains historical reference to Spalding and his articles for the Mind Magazine 1935-37.

The Spalding Foundation:

Mr. Spalding great grandfather was engaged in trade and took the task carring a load of goods down the Ganges. However he was not familiar with the behaviour of Ganges under the flood season and was stranded. One boat was near a wall that had been exposed. A native broke through the wall and out fell several gold pieces. Behind a vault they found a book in gold. The book was the second in a series and it gave the location of other books and cities from an ancient civilization.

He discovered that they had used a system with longitudes and latitudes. The engineers working under the Spalding Foundation were nineteen years finding the location of the city of Gobi given by the book. Spaldings grandfather went there in 1868 and Baird T. Spalding made his first trip there in 1879.

Examples of Baird T. Spaldings Teaching:

Q: How is it possible to bring about a great change under our present condition in which people are drinking, gambling, smoking and doing everything that is bad?
A: The very expression you have used allow those conditions to go on today. We use such thoughtless words that we allow those conditions to continue. It is better to say that nothing but good and perfect can be. See absolute perfection for all.

Q: What is the proper medium for the awakening?
A: The individual awakening. As it is with the individual, it is with the group; as it is with group, it is with the nation, as it is with the nation, it is with the world.

Q: Is it necesarry to overcome all flesh?
A: It is not necessary to overcome all flesh, but to put a better conception upon it by the resurrection of this body from a material to a spiritual condition. If we come into true spirit, this flesh is immortalizes always. Why overcome flesh? It is perfectly beautiful and pure, if we overcome the idea that has held it out of that condition."

Q: What about healing?
A: There is no healing. Healing is a name for a condition that comes about. You can not keep perfection away if you allow it to come to you.

Truth:
"Truth is the same regardless of the book that presents it or the teacher who proclaims it."
"If we would find Truth, we must rise above our own weakness and dare to face the Truth wherever it may be found or whatever its discovery may do to the narrow confines of our own beliefs and speculations."

Accomplishment:
"Everything is accomplished under a defintive law. Every individual works with that law if they accomplish anything, even to walking or breathing. There is no doubt about that."
"You can not accomplish a thing unless you stand one with it."

About negative and positive thoughts:
"Greater civilization than ours have lived by it. But they begun to see dual. Then what happened? Duality began to take energy from their bodies to keep duality in existence, and immediately that energy was flowing from their bodies to their own thoughts, building up the psychic condition.
At times we get beyond the hypnotic stage, and then a flash of the real comes trough. Then we do not hesitate to accept it. Each experience of this kind makes us stronger in acceptance. Then we are "about our Father's business."
"Negative thoughts begets a hypnotic influence. Negative thinking takes energy from the body, whereas positive thinking adds and creates energy."
"Humanity is going to see that is far better to be in positive influences at all times. Then we are going to take the great step forward."

Belief:
"We have forgotten our birthright; we are hypnotized into a condition in we do not believe."
"Without belief there can be no creative power"
"You have been told often that if one endeavors to accomplish and succeeds, all can. The power has always existed and always will exist. Why is it kept away? It is because we put up the barriers of disbelief."

The Ideal of Christ:
"There is but one Christ of all mankind. If we stand one with Christ, we are that very thing. Jesus presented the Christ to the world, which all men may present if they will."
"Always, man's divinity is man's higher attitude. It can be proved in every instance."
"You are perfectly free to make the ascension at any instant, and you are always living to a higher level because you are presenting that ideal."

How to look on children:
"'I see the Christ in every face and in every form. When the first child was born, the Christ was born.' If we let the child alone, we never submerge him. The influence surrounding him would keep him completely. All we need to do is to see the Christ in that child. The moment we present that child as the Christ, we bind ourselves together with that child in the greatest enlightenment."

Baird T. Spalding was kind and simple man who lived a simple life. He was always moving and could travel 1000 miles to do a favour for a friend. He spent most time of his life as an research mining engineering. His work seems to have made him rich, becuse he was always willing to give away money if somebody needed. One thing Mr. Spalding didn't need much for himself was - sleep, only three-four hours each night.

Early, Douglas DeVorss (the founder of DeVorss & Company, Publisher P.O. Box 550 Marina del Rey, CA 90294) and Baird T. Spalding agreed that Mr. Spalding never was to be introduced as an Master, but only as an author, but never the less Mr. Spalding made some extraordinary doings.

One very remarkable thing happened in New York (USA) when he was visting a friend. Spalding was to lecturing in Montreal (Canada) the same afternoon. At 5.00 his friend asked him if it was not time for him to leave. -"No, Its not until 7:30, and I have plenty of time." It was not until 6.00 he said goodbye and left. His friend was very nervous, because she new that he hardly have time to get ready and go to the airport, much less Montreal! She waited until just before the time for his leacture and then phoned Montreal. - "Please tell me." she said "has Baird Spalding arrived yet? The woman who answered said, "Why, he's walking up on the platform right now."

Baird T. Spalding's teaching was a mixture of taoism, early hinduism, buddhism and christianity.
He believed that the teaching of life was very simply and therefore, he was an opponent to Mysticism and Theosophy and those Christian Sects who denied that man was Divine. He said that the people he knew in Eastern said, it was a heresy to accept man less than Divine.

Alexander Graham Bell went to Buffalo, New York to loan 2000 Dollars from Spaldings father and his two brothers. They were small bankers at that time and lend him the money so he could attend Boston Tech and build his telephone.

A letter dated December 2, 1935 tells that:
"....Baird T. Spalding is now carrying on with his research work in Calcutta University. We have met some of his former teachers, Professors Ghose, Physics Department, Jesse Bose, Nag, Roy, Das etc., of Trancendental Physics, Physcology, Chemistry, Metaphyscics and philosophy, all of the Science College..."

Baird T. Spalding made some sensational claims during his later years about different kinds of inventions that like the camera to past events, until now his claims has sounded like Science Fiction.

He stated that things could travel faster than Light and of course it sounded impossible to those who believed in Einsteins theory. But now it has come to pass with Faster than Light communication!
